On January 28th, in the A.V. room, Dr. Merchant delivered an enlightening session on the Upanishads, starting at 11:15 am. Both TFA and STKGB educators were present to imbibe the profound wisdom being shared. Dr. Merchant underscored the significance of spiritual education, termed ‘Para’, and how it seamlessly complements materialistic education, or ‘Apara’.
Educators were urged to recognize the criticality of introducing spiritual education at the foundational level, allowing students to grasp these profound principles from a young age. Dr. Merchant highlighted that the pursuit of enduring happiness is deeply intertwined with a sound understanding of spiritual teachings.
By integrating the study of the Upanishads into the curriculum over a structured timeframe of 1-2 years, using well-curated textbooks, students will be better positioned to cultivate faith and a deeper comprehension of their inner selves. A notable emphasis was laid on “Atma Bodh”, underscoring its pivotal role in one’s spiritual journey.
