Basilon Public School hosted an inter-school debate competition on December 2, 2022 in Spandan Hall, Gujarat Refinery Township, Jawaharnagar, Vadodara.The debate topic was “DOES GIVING VARIOUS FREEBIES AND SUBSIDIES BY GOVERNMENTS AMOUNT TO GOOD GOVERNANCE IN A DEMOCRACY?”
Our school sent two kids to compete.They are:
1. Krishna Thakkar from Class 10 (For)
2. Kashish Sharma from 11 Commerce (Against)
This event was attended by 44 candidates who spoke for and against the topic with tremendous intensity and emotion. At the conclusion of a three-hour-long heated but engaging argument.The outcomes were pronounced by prominent judges from M.S University’s department of political science. Krishna Thakkar of class ten, who spoke in support of the motion, was placed second. She received a certificate, a trophy, and a monetary prize of Rs. 3000.
The competition was a thrilling event for both the speakers and the audience.
