On 17th August 2022, 12 students (3 participants and 9 audience members) were taken to Ankleshwar to be a part of the Freedom Cup Debate competition. 12 schools had participated in this competition. The event was adjudged by Dr. Snehal Lokhandwala, Dr. Vineeta Deepa and Dr. Maneesha Saxena.
There were two rounds – The first round was for/against the motion and the second round was for rebuttal. The programme started at 9.15 am and ended at 1.30 pm. Breakfast and lunch was served to all of us by the school. We left by 2.30 pm and reached school at 6.30 pm.
Diya Vassa (11 Com.) debated fiercely against the motion and Aarav Shah (12 Com.) definitely got his points across during the Rebuttal round.
However, it was Varun Varadarajan (12 Sci.) who won first position in ‘For the Motion’ round with his spirited as well as passionate arguments. St. Kabir GSEB was at second place; just 10 points behind the first position winners.
