Field trip to Apicore Pharmaceutical

In their visit to Apicore Pharmaceuticals, the students arrived at 9:30 am and were welcomed by Dr. Jayram and the Human Resources representative. During the orientation session, they were provided with an overview of the company’s history and its functional activities. Apicore Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of a foreign company established in 2006, specializes in serving as an R&D and API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) manufacturing service provider for the global pharmaceutical industry. The company is dedicated to developing, manufacturing, and delivering APIs of superior quality at competitive costs.

Dr. Jayram elaborated on the different departments within the organization, such as Quality Control (Q.C), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Quality Assurance (Q.A), Production, and the Analytical department. The visitors had the opportunity to tour various labs, including the chemical lab, microbiology lab, sterilization lab, incubation room, and autoclave area. They also got to see essential facilities like the Pollution Control Unit, Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), Environmental lab, and the Hazardous waste storage Area. Additionally, the staff’s well-being was evident through the presence of a playground area on-site.
